1 Last Meal Should be the Smallest

Your metabolism is at its lowest at the end of the day so your last meal should never be a big one especially as you get older and your metabolism is slower than ever. Eat bigger meals during breakfast and lunch so you don’t need to eat much later on.

2 Keep Track of your Portions and your Protein

Make sure to limit your lean meat intake at dinner to around 3 to 4 ounces for women and 6 to 8 ounces for men. The rest should be vegetables like broccoli, spinach, and asparagus.

3 Eat Breakfast and Don’t Skip it!

Never skip breakfast and eat within an hour of rising. It’s called the most important meal of the day for a very good reason. Before noon, make sure that half of your fiber needs have been met.

4 Protein + Fiber = Every Meal

Always remember to combine protein and fiber in every meal because protein alone is not as fulfilling. In addition to that, protein helps your body hold onto muscle mass while you lose weight. Examples would be a turkey or ham sandwich with high-fiber whole-grain bread and eggs with rice.

Fiber is the ultimate weight-loss tool and it is hard to get from vegetables alone. It has zero calories and the body works hard to digest it. It also tells your brain that you’re full by sending a hormone. We all need a good balance for everything and although you may lose weight in the short-term but you will risk deficiencies in the long-run if you eliminate whole categories of foods from your diet.
